There are plenty of cars out there that claim to be a breath of fresh air, that one new choice in a sea of other choices that will stand out and make all the difference. Lofty as these goals are, they are, more often than not, unfulfilled.
This not to be the case with the 2017 Legacy coming to dealerships for Subaru serving New Orleans and other areas soon, though. Test-driven and reviewed by other reputable agencies, it easily claims top marks for styling, performance, safety--a bundle of positives that’s certainly worth looking into.
Good Looks Matter
The 2017 Subaru Legacy is a four-door sedan that gives off a highly sophisticated and elegant vibe on the road. Even as it faces tough driving obstacles, it easily manages to look good doing it. It does not go into the wild car design category, which some car designers tend to fall into simply because they want to cram as much features inside as possible.
The win of the 2017 Subaru Legacy, however, rests precisely on its simplicity, able to deliver clean, smooth lines on its exterior. The bodywork has been lowered too, giving it a more domineering presence. Couple that with the grille up front and you get a face that certainly draws your attention.
As for the new Sport trim, you’ll pretty much get the same look, except that here, you can enjoy wheels that have been upsized and accented with chrome.
Perform to Impress
As for engine varieties, there’s a 2.5-liter flat-4 engine at the base model, which should give you 175 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. An optional 3.6-liter flat-6 is also available, and this one should give you as much as 256 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque.
As for fuel economy, the 4-cylinder version gets an EPA rating of 25 mpg in city, 34 on highway, and 29 mpg for combined. The 3.6 engine should give you 20 mpg in city, 28 on highway, and 23 combined.
As Safe as It Gets
Meanwhile, on the safety front, you get an extra set of eyes, so to speak, thanks to the new EyeSight system. This basically puts together a bunch of other safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, auto forward collision warning, and even automatic emergency braking.
Further helping you have a safer driving experience, this system can be improved with rear cross-traffic alerts, as well as blind-spot monitors. On top of this, you’ll also be getting airbags strategically placed in key positions inside the cabin, including in front of the bottom seat cushion. Daytime running lights and child-seat latches round up the safety features that make the 2017 Subaru Legacy a legacy-in-the-making.
You can see it for yourself in a Subaru dealership serving New Orleans.
