Consumer Reports recently released their Top Picks of 2015 for cars and SUVs, and of all the vehicles that made the list, three were from Subaru. These were the 2015 Legacy (Best Mid-Sized Sedan), the 2015 Forester (Best Small SUV), and the 2015 Impreza (Best Compact Car).
The Top Picks list includes 10 cars and SUVs which have to get a high score in Consumer Reports' reliability ratings and also excel in automotive crash tests. The tests begins with assessing the performance of the vehicle, then its reliability, then its safety. Overall, the Legacy scored 89, the Forester 86, and the Impreza 79.
Subaru's three winning models all received new improvements for the year 2015. The Legacy got some new safety features, a new exterior, and improved fuel economy while the Forester gained a power moonroof, driver assist system, cruise control, and new alloy wheels. The Impreza received a new look, with a new front and rear styling and new dash, as well as an improved audio and navigation system. Both the Legacy and the Impreza scored 4 out of 5 in reliability while the Forester received a perfect 5.
Subaru has come a long way since its humble beginnings back in 1917 as an aircraft research laboratory-and later airplane producer-in Japan. Their entry into the automobile industry came with the release of their first car, the Subaru 1500, in 1954. Since then, it has gone on to release other models such as the BRZ, Impreza, WRX, Legacy, Forester, and Outback, all of which you can find at a well-stocked Gulfport, MS Subaru dealer. Their main draw is their All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system which is featured in almost all of their models, which gives its cars balance and even distribution of power for maximum traction.
Those looking for a new car to drive should really check out a local Gulfport, MS Subaru dealership and check out their inventory of Subaru cars. Dealerships such as Baldwin Subaru have the latest models in stock and ready for a test drive. Find out why three of their cars were chosen for the Top Picks of 2015.
