Subaru cars are a favorite on the market these days. One of the brand's more popular models is the Forester SUV. Having been on the market for over a decade and a half and having been through three generations of changing builds, the car model has a remarkably resilient market presence.

The 2014 version of the Forester is the best yet. The fourth-generation model is proof that Subaru designers have learned a lot from the model's fifteen-year history. The SUV workhorse boasts a lot of features that make it a good choice for any prospective car owner. Julia LaPalme underscores some of the Forester's highlights in a recent article for Motor Trend:

"The 2.0XT Forester sports a 2.0L DOHC intercooled turbocharged boxer engine that pumps out 250 horses at 5600 rpm. This, along with its 3622-pound curb weight, accounts for its EPA rating of 23/28 mpg city/highway. Its Lineartronic CVT comes with X-Mode (as seen on the 2.5iT), as well as Subaru Intelligent Drive, which is exclusive to the 2.0XT. SI-Drive allows the driver to switch between three modes of throttle response: Intelligent, Sport, and Sport Sharp. The latter two settings give the driver a more manual-style driving experience by letting you use the paddle shifters to transition between six or eight gears, respectively."

With these features to play up, Subaru dealers in New Orleans, LA and elsewhere sometimes find it a challenge to keep up with demand. These improvements are not all there is to it, though. The new Forester also has a new chassis with a higher clearance and a wider base, which gives it a more robust look. This translates into more leg room in the rear, and a more classic-looking interior. The basics, of course, are upgraded, with airbags in the front and side to ensure both driver and passenger safety.

The great thing about the Subaru is that it has never veered from its vaunted hallmark of power technology and fuel efficiency. Check out the Forester and other Subaru models at any local New Orleans, LA Subaru dealers or those in Baton Rouge and Covington-areas served by reputable dealerships such as Baldwin Subaru. Whether you opt for new or used vehicles, such a dealership typically offers a great selection of different brands and models, with knowledgeable staff to recommend the right fit for your budget and needs.  Baldwin Subaru is located in Covington, LA and has been serving the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas since 1950.
