Loyal Subaru owners may have some good times ahead thanks to a new direction set by the Stars of Pleiades. Diana Kurylko of Automotive News reports:
Subaru is riding on the success of its strategy to redesign all of its vehicles primarily for the United States and equip them with competitive features.
As it prepares for a new wave starting in 2016, Subaru will move to a new platform for all of its vehicles -- from the compact Impreza to an all-new, full-size seven-seat crossover. This will cut costs and development time.
Also in 2016, the redesigned vehicles will get a new generation of engine technology that will include direct injection, lean-burn technology and cylinder deactivation.
The prospect of positive changes can almost ring true with motorists in New Orleans. There are clubs of Subaru drivers in the Bayou State and even non-members would want to keep abreast of the latest developments out of Japan. If you are going for a new car that exudes grace, comfort, and power, why not go for it through leading dealerships like Baldwin Subaru near New Orleans?
The developments in Kurylko's report stems from Subaru's "Prominence 2020" master plan, with the main goal being to increase product output and quality while reducing costs. Subaru insiders hinted that the technologies to be incorporated in the new engines are not far from what other companies are using today. Subaru's entire line is marked for the change.
The flagship vehicle, the Impreza, will have a radical redesign pegged for release in 2016 or 2017 from a newly-expanded factory in Indiana. The shape is reportedly based on that of the sporty, coupe-like WRX Concept shown at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. Speaking of coupes, fans of the BRZ can expect the line to be replaced by a new generation around 2018.
Shifts are afoot for Subaru's crossover family, with the Outback and Forester pegged to stay the same through 2017. The XV Crosstrek, Kurylko notes, is to be "freshened" for the 2016 model year. An all-new seven-seat crossover will replace the Tribeca, which has not sold well since its introduction in 2005.
No major changes are expected of the Legacy midsize sedan. The 2015 model is already reaping raves for its noise-reduction technology.
People who've always wished for a Prius-like vehicle may have their wishes answered. Subaru hinted that one of the existing vehicles will pack a plug-in hybrid powerplant in 2017, with 13 states that impose tough emissions standards as the first markets.
Change may be the only constant in the universe. However, leading New Orleans, LA Subaru dealerships, and others like Baldwin Subaru in Covington think of it as a good thing.
