After being introduced-and hailed-in the April 2014 New York City Auto Show, the redesigned Subaru Outback is expected to debut big as well when it hits local New Orleans LA Subaru dealerships and, subsequently, in dealerships across the country. Subaru president Tom Doll underscores what he believes is the Outback's biggest selling point in this excerpt from Diana Kurylko's article on Automotive News.
"The redesigned Subaru Outback is more agile, has better driving dynamics, more contemporary styling and better fuel economy than the model it replaces, said Tom Doll, president of Subaru of America.
Those features guarantee "it will appeal to a wider audience," said Doll."
There's more to the latest Outback than what Mr. Doll outlines here. Let's take a closer look:
Designed for a rough, rip-roaring off-road travel in mind, the 2015 Subaru Outback takes off from previous Outback models yet maintains Subaru's patented sport-utility vehicle (SUV) formula. It sports design cues similar to the equally popular Legacy sedan.
The Outback features two models with different engines. Buyers can either choose from the 2.5i which features a 175-horsepower, 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder boxer engine; or the 3.6R Limited with a 256-horsepower, 3.6-liter, and 6-cylinder boxer engine. Fuel economy is improved to 25/33 for the 2.5i and 19/27 for the 3.6R Limited. Both models feature standard CVT automatic transmissions, as well as Subaru's patented all-wheel drive technology.
For the interior, the Outback offers a bit more room, translating to increased seating and cargo capacity. Besides the creature comforts, a classic sheen of exterior luster is also emphasized. A robust grille trim is featured, as well as a repositioned windshield, which is pulled forward at the base. Combined with the new front partition windows and door-mounted side windows, these updates allow for improved visibility. The seats are outfitted with thicker cushioning, specifically for the armrests and center console. While the dash features a standard 3.5-inch center LCD information display, the instrument panel was improved to look sharper.
Of course, safety measures are still top priorities. The Outback more than provides for that with its innovative front crash prevention system through its EyeSight, a twin-camera system that effectively measures how far objects are from the vehicle based on the closing distance; it's sort of a preventive tool to help drivers avoid potential front end crashes.
With the array of state-of-the-art features offered in the 2015 Outback, it's not surprising to see how this Subaru can become a big item this year among local Subaru dealerships in New Orleans, LA, as well as in surrounding Subaru dealerships in Baton Rouge and Covington, such as Baldwin Subaru. If you've been wanting to know how it feels inside this sharp engineering and family-oriented vehicle, visit a reputable Subaru dealership in your neighborhood today. Baldwin Subaru is located in Covington, LA and has been serving the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas since 1950.
