Changes to the New Subaru WRX near New Orleans LA

Spy photos from Japan were recently revealed of the new Subaru WRX near New Orleans LASubaru WRX near New Orleans LA. This means Subaru has begun to test the new sport-tuned model that is likely scheduled to arrive here in the fall of 2021. And what's more, Car and Driver spotted the 2022 WRX being put through the paces in Ann Arbor, Michigan, being followed by a four-cylinder Ford Mustang that sported a manufacturer's license plate.

Time for a Refresh

The Subaru WRX we currently have was introduced almost seven years ago in 2014 and is definitely long overdue for a redesign. From the photos leaked, you can get a decent idea of the exterior design. It has a similar look as the new Levorg sports wagon that debuted earlier this month in Europe and Japan. Classic WRX details like fat fenders, a minimal rear spoiler, quad exhaust tips, and a diffuser style rear valance are very noticeable. The camouflaged test model of the new Subaru WRX near New Orleans LA appears to have new compact headlights akin to the new Levorg and latest Impreza, as well as a honeycomb type grille. Some design cues also look like they were borrowed from the VIZIV Performance concept that debuted in 2017, especially toward the rear of the car and the defined wheel arch contour.

New Subaru WRX near New Orleans LA: New Engine Options

Not a lot of information is certain about the next WRX, but a few predictions can be made with a bit of confidence. Talk has been circulating for some time now of the new WRX getting a version of the engine in the new Ascent, Subaru's turbocharged 2.4-liter four cylinder, which generates 260hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. The new Subaru WRX near New Orleans LA will likely offer two transmission options: a 6-speed manual and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), both with standard all-wheel drive.

Even more exciting is the fact that there is a rather good chance the new FA24 motor will put out more than 260 horsepower in the new WRX!

Subaru Global Platform

Because the current WRX is the last Subaru model still built on the old platform, the new Subaru WRX near New Orleans LA is expected to be built on Subaru's Global Platform. All models, including the newest Impreza and the recently revealed, "across the pond" Levorg, have switched to the Subaru Global Platform underpinnings.

Bigger and Better

The 2022 model of the WRX is expected to gain a few inches in its dimensions, similar to how the new platform increased the Impreza's size. This will translate to more cargo volume and passenger space. The Global Platform should also make improvements in driving dynamics and chassis rigidity and step up the safety technology as well.

Hopefully, within a few months, Subaru will start giving more details about the upcoming new WRX. We hope you are as excited as we are! To stay up to date on the new Subaru WRX, contact Baldwin Subaru at 1730 N Hwy 190 Covington, LA 70433.
