2021 Crosstrek Sport in Southern LA: Most Powerful Crosstrek Yet

Are you one of the many Subaru fans who've been wishing for a more powerful Crosstrek? If you are, your wish has finally come true; the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport in southern LA has finally gotten a bigger engine.

It's been known for awhile now that the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek would be given a bigger and more powerful engine option. It's now official thanks to Subaru's confirmation that the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport in southern LA will get the same 2.5-liter boxer 4-cylinder as used in the current Forester. This engine produces

This engine produces 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque; 30 hp more and 31 lb-ft of torque more than what's generated by the current 2.0-liter boxer. Sport and Limited models are the only two expected to boast this new engine. Base and Premium models will likely keep the 2.0-liter engine.

The standard manual transmission will still be around for 2021, too, though only in the 2.0-liter versions. Opt for the 2.5-liter four and you'll have to keep the CVT automatic.

Both engines will return similar fuel economy numbers, according to the EPA. The 2.0-liter Boxer CVT is estimated at 28 mpg city, 33 highway, and 30 mpg, while the manual is estimated at 22/29/25 mpg. The 2.5 liter engine puts out similar numbers with 27 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, and 29 mpg combined, which is really pretty good considering the larger displacement and higher power production.

In addition, the new 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport in southern LA takes its off-roading prowess to the next level. This doesn't mean this is your go-to adventure vehicle, but its off-roading skills are definitely enhanced in the Sport trim.
