Our Story

A few milestones from 1950 to today.
1950
Baldwin Motors opens its doors on Boston Street, Covington, LA, beginning 75 years of service to the Northshore.
1992
Baldwin Motors relocates to its current location on 1730 N. Hwy 190, Covington, La.
2001
Baldwin brings the Subaru brand to Louisiana.
2010s–2020s
National recognition for community and customer commitment through Subaru’s Love Promise.
2023–2024
Remodel enhancements and our on-site dog park make visits even friendlier for families (and pups!).
2025
Grand Re-Opening and 75th Anniversary celebration. A new chapter, same family values.

75 Years Loving Dogs
From adoption events to donations, our dealership is a home for animal lovers. In 2024, 13 dogs found families at our Make A Dogs Day adoption event with St. Tammany Dept. of Animal Services.

75 Years Protecting Our Planet
From Christmas tree recycling, paper shredding days to purchasing Ospery equipment for our local waterways, we preserve the natural places that make Louisiana home.
Loves to Help
75 Years Helping the Homeless
With Family REACH Alliance, we donated 120 pairs of socks and shoes in 2025. Practical support that helps families move forward.
Loves to Care
75 Years Fighting Cancer
We stand with families facing cancer through partners like Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Hogs for the Cause, and Buna’s Hope, raising funds and awareness close to home. In 2025, our team donated 85 blankets to patients receiving treatment at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Covington.
Loves Learning
75 Years Supporting Schools
Proud partners with AdoptAClassroom.org and local schools like Lee Road Jr. High, Pine View Middle School, and Folsom Elementary. We support teachers with supplies and celebrate them all year.

We have proudly supported hometown charities like Buna's Hope, Hogs for the Cause, New Heights, Feeding the Needy, and more through past years of the Subaru Share the Love Event, resulting in over $258,520 donated.
