Subaru's Forester line has always been at the top of the pack among modern SUVs, and the new 2015 model promises to stay true to the tradition, of course with some minor changes that guarantee owners a satisfying driving experience that is total-and fuel efficient. So, if you're looking for your next new set of wheels to take your family around as you browse through Baton Rouge auto sales dealerships, why not try the ever-dependable SUV. Why not make it Subaru?

Trims

The 2015 Forester comes in six trim options, a couple of which are the 2.5i Premium and 2.5i Limited, both of which come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The main features of the Premium includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, rear privacy glass and a stereo system boasting HD audio. The Limited comes standard with an All-Weather package along with features like a rear roof spoiler, automatic climate control and adjustable-height power rear liftgate.

Powertrain

This particular model comes with a standard all-wheel drive mechanism, while some trim levels like the 2.5i Limited, has additional driver-selectable mode aimed at helping improve traction when driving across slippery terrain. The Limited's engine churns out 170 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque, with a six-speed manual transmission standard for trims like the Premium. Fuel economy ranks in at 24 mpg city/ 32 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined.

Safety

Edmunds.com hails this model for its optimum safety ratings. To wit:

In government crash tests, the Subaru Forester earned a top five-star rating for overall protection in crash tests, with four stars for total frontal-impact safety and five stars for total side-impact safety. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Forester a top score of "Good" in the moderate overlap frontal-offset, small-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact, roof strength, and head restraint/seat tests. The IIHS also gave the Forester's optional frontal crash mitigation braking system a top score of "Superior."

Interior

When it comes to car interior design, Subaru's SUVs have one thing in common: simplicity. However, where it truly stands out is in the SUV's functionality, such as you can observe in its elevated rear seating that boosts visibility and thigh support. Moreover, not only does the affordable 2015 Subaru Forester have leg room rivaled only by a Mercedes-Benz S-class sedan, but it still has enough storage room for up to 74.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded.

When looking at new cars for sale in New Orleans or Baton Rouge, think about the 2015 Forester and the sensible advantages it can offer you and your family. Few other SUVs have achieved its level of focus on function, safety, and power.  Baldwin Subaru is located in Covington, LA and has been serving the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas since 1950.
